Makes remote assessment of the mobile phones possible to ensure quality

Bangalore, February 16th, 2016Quikr, India’s No. 1 cross category classifieds business has launched QuikrScanner, a pioneering diagnostic app for mobile phones. Enabling consumers to remotely assess and evaluate the condition and quality of mobile phones listed on the platform, QuikrScanner offers consumers a convenient way to make better informed purchase decisions.

Quikr is India’s only marketplace to offer its users such an app, which runs up to 20 tests to evaluate an android phone, including its battery, front and rear camera, network etc. This is an important step as the adoption of the pre-owned mobile phone category is growing rapidly in the country.

Sharing his thoughts behind the innovation, Anurag Saran, CPO, Quikr said, “C2C is a strategic category for us and as leaders in this space with over 30 million unique visitors on our platform, we have always strived to build trust and safety in transactions between our buyers and sellers. The QuikrScanner diagnostic app was recently introduced on our Android app, m-site and desktop in order to bring more transparency to transactions of pre-owned mobiles.”

“The market for both new and pre-owned mobile phones is growing rapidly which is also evident from our own platform. We felt it is our duty as a market leader to introduce this layer of verification and protection for consumers who buy pre-owned phones on Quikr. We also offer warranty for pre-owned phones, and the warranty will further add to the confidence of buyers while transacting on Quikr. The app has seen phenomenal voluntary uptake from our sellers which goes to speak about the quality of our user base – already 20% of mobile listings on Quikr have the QuikrScanner report attached,” he further added.

QuikrScanner also comes embedded in Quikr’s mobile app, and sellers who use the Quikr app to post an ad from the phone will be able to seamlessly demonstrate the quality of their phones to prospective buyers. Sellers posting an ad from the mobile site or desktop can also run QuikrScanner by installing it on the phone that they intend to sell.

With both the diagnostic tool and the warranty, Quikr will further increase the buyers’ confidence in purchasing pre-owned phones through its platform and reinforce their view of Quikr as the largest and safest C2C marketplace in the country.
