Veeam study shows 84 percent of CIOs agree that their organization has an Availability Gap

by | Apr 22, 2016

Mumbai : April 21, 2016 – Veeam® Software, the innovative provider of solutions that deliver Availability for the Always-On Enterprise™, today announced a 24 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in total bookings revenue for Q1 2016, further demonstrating the industry’s growing appetite for Availability. Additionally, with the growing interest of Indian enterprises in availability technologies, Veeam has reported an impressive 35 percent increase in year-on-year total revenue bookings in Q1 2016 in India.

With 75 percent YoY increase in total bookings revenue from large-sized deals, Veeam’s Q1 2016 success clearly demonstrates that enterprises are embracing Veeam’s innovative approach of delivering availability solutions, which enable SLAs (service level agreements) for recovery time and point objectives (RTPO™) of less than 15 minutes for ALL applications and data.

“Backup is broken,” said Ratmir Timashev, CEO at Veeam. “The state of backup is not going to get any better. What’s needed and demanded is Availability. Recent research discovered that 84 percent of CIOs agree that their organization has an Availability Gap – the gap between what users demand and what IT departments can deliver.  Veeam continues to help enterprises solve this challenge, and our Q1 results show that demand for Veeam Availability solutions continues to accelerate rapidly and we fully expect this growth to continue at a similar pace for the rest of 2016.”

“We know Availability is central to digital transformation,” said Peter Ruchatz, CMO at Veeam. “All organizations, regardless of industry or size, are turning to technology to radically improve their performance and overall customer experience. There is no room for complacency in the fast-moving digital world and no excuses for downtime. Veeam helps CIOs to lead this change – and challenge – within their organization.”

Veeam continues to see impressive growth in the cloud, especially as the demand for Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) intensifies. Celebrating its sixth year, the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) program, which offers ready-made opportunities for service providers to acquire new customers and grow recurring revenue, reported an increase of 82 percent in the number of transactions year-over-year. The VCSP program has grown to more than 11,200 service and cloud providers worldwide, with more than 1,300 of those partners licensed to provide services for Veeam Cloud Connect. Veeam Managed Backup Portal for Service Providers, made generally available in Q1, is another addition to Veeam’s robust portfolio of cloud-focused offerings, complementing Veeam Cloud Connect which offers a comprehensive, multi-tenant secure platform to deliver backup-as-a-service (BaaS) and DRaaS by Veeam’s network of Service Providers.

Additional highlights from Q1 2016 include:

·         193,000 customers worldwide: Veeam added close to 11,000 total paid customers in Q1 2016, consistent with a historical average of approximately 3,500 new customers each month.

·         11.1 Million Virtual Machines are protected with Veeam Availability Solutions.

·         Expansion to 39,000 ProPartners worldwide: Veeam’s commitment to the channel continues to attract new resellers and VARs to availability solutions.

·         Microsoft Hyper-V new license bookings: 34 percent growth over the same period during the previous year.

·         World Availability Day: In response to changing user demands for the Always-On Enterprise and to educate the market that back up alone is no longer enough, Veeam celebrated the second World Availability Day on March 30.

“It’s pretty clear that Veeam brings the best software technology in this space to the market. What a lot of people might not know is that Veeam supports cloud service providers with a team of sales and technical professionals,” said Will Baccich, CEO of Global Data Vault, a Gold Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner. “That high level of support is unlike anything we’ve had the opportunity to work with previously. Veeam has helped us grow our cloud-based DRaaS business rapidly, while maintaining 100 percent reliable quality for our customers.”

“We have combined Veeam Availability Suite and our own cloud resources to create ReVirt, a unique service for business continuity. With Veeam, we can offer a market-leading solution that closes the availability gap and at the same time make our Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) product affordable for organizations of all sizes,” said Gregor Frimodt-Møller, CEO at Any.Cloud, a Gold Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner.

“Veeam is an enterprise-grade, scalable solution that supports our business now and will support our business in the future as our client base continues to grow,” said Lee Marshall Head of IT, Infrastructure and Operationsat KNEIP, a Veeam customer. “No company wants to risk losing their data. Veeam enables us to provide 100 percent assurance that our backups and replicas are tested and verified recoverable.”
